Episode-by-episode discussion of Rich Dad Poor Dad by Robert Kiyosaki — assets versus liabilities, and why a pay rise alone never makes anyone rich. Each episode takes one chapter and turns it into something you can use today. Part of Money Podcast.

A shorter, sharper episode: the specific things Kiyosaki actually does. Stop doing what isn't working. Go looking for new ideas in places other people don't. Find someone who has done what you want to do and buy them lunch. Take courses, read, and above all make offers — he once had a property he'd have taken ten pigs for, just to have somebody interested. Jog, walk or drive a neighbourhood regularly and watch what changes. Look for people who want to buy first, then find someone who wants to sell. And think bigger: he tied up a large piece of land with an option, sold his friend the piece he wanted, and kept the rest for free. Buy the pie and cut it into pieces, because most people look only at what they can afford.
The closing episode is about scale and timing. Kiyosaki has watched unsophisticated investors put a whole nest egg into one deal and lose most of it quickly — good workers, bad investors — and he has equally little patience for people who spend their lives waiting for a big enough deal to justify starting. Buy a book, go to a seminar, practise, start small. He turned $5,000 in cash into a million-dollar asset producing $5,000 a month in cash flow in under six years, and the reason it worked is that he began learning as a child. The episode closes with who these two authors actually are — a fourth-generation Japanese American from a prominent family of educators whose father ran education for the state of Hawaii, and a co-author who helped pioneer the electronic book.
